Volume 3 - 6/17/25

Good morning Neptunes,

Congratulations on our third straight win against Bow Mar South this past weekend! The coaches all noticed an insane amount of improvement across all age groups on Saturday, whether the swimmers broke records, achieved personal bests, or refined their technique. From the our perspectives, it’s been so exciting to watch all of the swimmers’ hard work pay off! As always, thank you to our Neptune parents for all that you do–we literally couldn’t do this without you!

The coaches would also like to extend our congratulations to Charlie Moskoff for breaking the 9-10 50 Backstroke record and to Milo Hilst for breaking the 9-10 50 Breastroke record! These boys, along with Bryce Nelson and Lincoln Lindquist, also lowered their own 9-10 Boys 200 Medley Relay record this weekend even more! We are so proud of all your hard work!

On Wednesday this week (6/18), we have our annual Moonlight Practice, which is fun practices (plus a post-practice treat) for all age groups under the light of the full moon! Please see the schedule below for the age group time breakdowns, but don’t forget: NO MORNING PRACTICE FOR ANY AGE GROUP ON WEDNESDAY!

We have another Take-Out Tuesday at Mici’s (Southglenn) TONIGHT from 4-8pm! The coaches are looking forward to seeing everyone there! In other fundraising news, we have our annual Meatball Sub Family Night on Thursday (6/19). We still need some volunteers (especially for set-up and take-down) from our 11 and up age groups, so if your swimmer is available please encourage them to sign up!

This Saturday (6/21), the team will be traveling to Homestead to compete against both the Hurricanes and the South Park Dolphins in our Tri-Meet! Especially considering that this is a different pool, please arrive before 7:25am for warm-ups so that swimmers can get adjusted!

Because all three teams have a LOT of swimmers, the Homestead meet managers have asked us to limit entries to 2 individuals and 2 relays per swimmer (due at 10pm TONIGHT). If you’ve already entered your swimmer in three individual events, please help us out and remove them from one! The forecast for Saturday is also looking pretty hot, so please encourage swimmers to stay in the shade and hydrate as much as possible.

Each week, the coaching staff gets together and picks four 10-and-unders and four 11-and-ups from the previous week who exemplify what it means to be a Neptune. Congratulations to the following swimmers for all of their hard work, sportsmanship, and team spirit:

10-and-unders: Penny Keene, Alden Harris, Chase Nelson, and Clara Kline

Good morning Neptunes!!

First off, we wanted to congratulate everyone on our win against Homestead Farm II! While our swimmers showed a lot of strength in the water, we are also incredibly proud of their team spirit and sportsmanship. Thank you to all of the amazing parent volunteers who helped the meet run so smoothly despite all of the event combinations–we appreciate you so much!

This season has already started off with a bang with four records (1 relay, 3 individual) broken in the first meet alone. Congratulations to Henry Sundberg, Milo Hilst, Charlie Moskoff, Lincoln Lindquist, and Charlie Sundberg on this amazing accomplishment! We are so proud of all your hard work!

Many of our Neptunes also made the “Top 25” list in their events this weekend. Our RMSL league is publishing the “Top 25” swimmers in every event weekly. Keep up the hard work and awesome swims!! Ribbons (12 & unders only) are in Family Folders.

Looking forward to the rest of this week, we are still closely monitoring the weather conditions in the morning. As per the Parent Reps’ most recent email, we will be in touch regarding practice cancellations (via email) by 6:30am, if they’re necessary.

We highly encourage every swimmer to get a good warm up before the meet starts, so please arrive before 6:45am on Saturday morning. Parents–please make sure to help your swimmers get to heating on time so that Saturday will run smoothly. We are always so grateful for your help on this!

Volume 2 - 6/10/24

Good Morning Neptunes!

Congratulations to everyone on our first home meet win against the Heritage Greens Gators! We are so proud of our swimmers for all of the hard work, sportsmanship, and team spirit they showed this weekend. Thanks to all of our parent volunteers for helping the meet run so effectively; we couldn’t do it without you!

Thankfully, the weather is looking much better this week! Expect a full week of practices according to the typical schedule. This is especially great news for Swim-A-Lap on Wednesday morning, which is our biggest fundraising event of the year! Make sure to get those pledges in and see below for the complete timeline of the morning.

The coaches would also love it if you joined us for our second Take-Out Tuesday at the Southglenn Noodles & Co TONIGHT from 4-8pm! Let the cashier know you’re with the Neptunes and use the code “GIVING25” when making an online order. Hope to see everyone there!

In other fundraising news, our annual Meatball Sub Family Night Dinner is next Thursday (6/19). We would love to get a full group of 13-18s to volunteer, so please encourage swimmers to sign up if they're free to help out!

Our second (and final) home meet is this weekend (6/14) against Bow Mar South! Just a reminder, all entries are due TONIGHT AT 10PM! Please arrive before 6:45am for warm-ups. This is going to be another close one, so we encourage parents to avoid signing kids up for races that they may disqualify in. Please reach out to your child’s coach if you have any questions as to whether or not their strokes are legal. The head coaches will also be monitoring the entries and will check in if we are unsure.

Also, the heating process ran so smoothly this weekend–let’s keep up all of the good work with helping kids get to their races. On a similar note, please inform the coaches of all scratches as soon as possible. We appreciate all of your help on this!

Looking ahead to the finale of the season, we encourage families to start thinking about whether your swimmer(s) will be participating in prelims this year. This week is always a blast, so we would love to have everyone join us in this next level of competition!

Each week, the coaching staff gets together and picks four 10-and-unders and four 11-and-ups from the previous week who exemplify what it means to be a Neptune. Congratulations to the following swimmers for all of their hard work, sportsmanship, and team spirit:

10-and-unders: Landon Peverill, Emma Smith, Bria Freeman, Xavier Ekegren

11-and-up: Avery Dodson, Kate Nazarenus, Jack Moskoff, David Stafford
