Rocky Mountain Swim League
Parent Code of Conduct
The Rocky Mountain Swim League (RMSL) expects all swim parents to abide by the following Code of Conduct. At all RMSL meets parents should:
- Display the characteristics referred to in the RMSL Bylaws – courtesy, good will and sportsmanship.
- Demonstrate good sportsmanship by conducting yourself in a manner that earns the respect of your child, other swimmers, coaches, officials and other parents.
- Support the swimmers, coaches, officials and other parents with positive communication and actions.
- Show respect for the meet facilities and follow the rules of the pool to which you have been invited.
- Maintain self control at all times. Allow swimmers to swim, coaches to coach, officials to officiate and parents to parent.
- Respect the meet officials and their authority even if you don’t agree with a decision. As stated in the RMSL Bylaws, protests may only be made by a team parent representative to the Referee.
- Understand that criticizing, name calling, use of abusive language or gestures directed toward an official, coach, participating swimmer or other parent will not be permitted or tolerated.
- Understand that such behavior WILL result in being asked to leave the pool for the duration of the meet, and will face consequnces from both my team and possibly the league.
At all meets parents should enjoy the wonderful spirit and tradition that is the Rocky Mountain Swim League.
Coaches and Athlete Code of Conduct
The Rocky Mountain Swim League expects ALL Coaches, athletes and participants to abide by the following code of conduct:
1)I will display all characteristics of the Rocky Mountain Swim League at all times. This includes: Courtesy, Good-Will, and Sportsmanship.
2)I will abide by all rules, regulations, and laws set forth by the RMSL and my respective team.
3)I will do my best to support and encourage my fellow swimmers not just on my team, but throughout the Rocky Mountain Swim League.
4)I realize this is a recreational league and will help to maintain the spirit in which it was founded and help foster an environment to create a love of the sport of swimming.
5)I will use appropriate language and act in a respectful manner at all team and RMSL events.
6)I understand that if I engage in bullying behavior that there will be disciplinary actions from both my team and from the RMSL.
7) I understand the use of name calling or abusive language or gestures towards anyone will not be permitted or tolerated and will be met with disciplinary actions.
8)I understand that if I participate in any action that is considered illegal (use of drugs or alcohol) or against the team/league rules, I will face disciplinary actions from both my team and the RMSL which include suspension from meets, the team, and the league.
