Greetings 2018 CK Swim Families!

Spring is in the air and summer swimming is just around the corner. We are very excited about the upcoming season and so are all of our coaches. If you get a chance, you can check out our amazing coaching staff HERE  

Below is information on the upcoming Online Application/Registration for the 2019 CK Swim Team, which is THIS Friday and Saturday! Please read this email in it's entirety, as it contains new information.

• All applicants must complete Google form for EACH child. Form will be available Friday, April 5, at 8 a.m. through Saturday, April 6, at 1 p.m. Mountain Time. This GOOGLE FORM LINK will become active Friday at 8am.
• You will receive a confirmation email for each form submitted.
• CKST will send an email by April 8th confirming your child has a spot on the Swim Team, Practice Squad or Waiting List.
•  If your child’s spot on the team is confirmed by email, you will need to register in Swimtopia by April 15th. You will ONLY be able to register once you have received an email link confirming your child’s spot and inviting you to register. You must access registration from that link.
• Payment is due at the time of registration, along with your physician and insurance information. Payment can be accepted via the registration tool in Swimtopia or by check (address will be available on registration link) by April 15th to secure your child/ren spot.
• Starting April 16, swimmers will be contacted from the Waiting List to fill available spots.

NEW IN 2019: If your child isn’t available for at least three regular season meets (ages 5-12) or at least two regular season meets (ages 13-18), please consider joining the Practice Squad. Practice Squad Members will not participate in regular season meets but can partake in all other team activities.

Registration only includes social and fundraising parent volunteer roles. Sign-up for meets and volunteer positions will occur weekly during the season and are required.

Swim Team and Practice Squad spots will be given to applicants who meet the following requirements:

• Applied by the stated deadline
• Remain in good standing* from previous season starting with the 2018 season as outlined in the following section

In cases where the age group has more applicants than spots, priority will be given in the following order:

• Charter member: Current season coaches/children of current and past parent reps

• Charter member: Children of current Cherry Knolls Pool Board members or current Charter Cherry Knolls Swim Team board members
• Charter member: returning* swimmers
• Charter member: applicants new to swim team
• Seasonal member: returning* swimmers
• Seasonal member: new to swim team
• If multiple applicants meet criteria above to qualify for available spot(s) per age group, spots will be filled through a random lottery among those applicants.

*Starting with the 2018 season, returning swimmers must meet the following “good standing” requirements from the previous season. Decisions regarding exceptions will be at the discretion of parent reps and coaches.

• Attended at least three meets the previous season.
• Met all family volunteer requirements the previous season

If space permits, children will be offered the option to join the Practice Squad or be placed on the Waiting List based on their priority and/or lottery number. For the safety of the swimmers, the 6 and unders age group is capped at 18 swimmers, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 age groups are capped at 33 swimmers each and the 13-18 age group is capped at 25 swimmers.

Additionally, we have a great need for two volunteer positions: 1) Home Meet Concessions co-chair with Robin Bryant 2) July 4th co-chair with Dara McCabe. If you would like more information on the rewarding positions, please reach out to us this week. Those that do these jobs fulfill their 2 points of social/fundraising and do not have to do a job at the regular swim meets.
