Prelims Sign-Up Today through June 25

Hello Swim Team parents – 

Prelims sign-up is now open on the website homepage! See week of July 8 schedule for information on each age group’s meet/day/location. (Please note 8 & Unders has been moved to TUESDAY and 13-18 event moved to MONDAY at Ben Franklin this year.)  

Team swimmers are eligible as long as they swam in two meets during the season. We encourage everyone to join in the fun to maximize their swim season participation! 

  • PLEASE READ Prelims Agreement (also pasted below) and sign-up for events and jobs by Tuesday, June 25, at 10 p.m. 
  • Please sign-your swimmer out if you know he/she will NOT participate, to help coaches plan! 
  • Every participating family needs to fulfill a volunteer position for their Prelim event day and a separate volunteer position on Finals day if your child qualifies for finals. You can sign up when you sign up your children for the meet. If you are confident your swimmer will qualify for finals, please also go ahead and sign up for a finals position now on the same page. 
  • Talk to coaches (outside of practice times) about what events your swimmer should enter. 
  • Practices continue after July 1st only for swimmers participating in Prelims and then finals, which will be Saturday, July 13, at Stonegate. 
  • End of Season Banquet will then follow after Finals at our pool, starting at 6pm.

2019 Cherry Knolls Swim Team Prelims Agreement 

We’re excited to once again have so many swimmers interested in swimming in the Rocky Mountain Swim League Championship Week this year! Please read this document carefully. 

The deadline to sign up for Prelims is Tuesday, June 25, at 10 p.m.—NO EXCEPTIONS! 

Some things to consider when making the decision to participate in Prelims: 

  • You are making the commitment to be available to attend finals on Saturday, July 13, should your swimmer qualify for individual and/or relay events. If you know that you and your swimmer cannot attend finals, please do not sign up to swim in Prelims. Many of our relay teams do go to finals each year! 
  • For finals, the top 18 swimmers are taken from Prelims to participate in the finals meet (16 swimmers and 2 alternates) for each event. 
  • Cherry Knolls does not require swimmers to have a certain qualifying time to participate in Prelims. We encourage your swimmer to participate if they want to. It is a great experience! If you are looking at qualifying times, we suggest you look at the finals times from last year that are posted on the RMSL website. 

Volunteering 

  • RMSL assigns each team multiple volunteer shifts for each event, so we need your help! 
  • You must fulfill at least one volunteer shift for Prelims events. If you have multiple swimmers in multiple meets, you are obligated to fulfill one shift for the week. We will do our best to limit to one shift during the week, but it’s not always possible depending on how many swimmers participate in each age group.
  • If your swimmer qualifies for finals, you must also fulfill another volunteer shift at the finals meet on Saturday. 

Steps to signing in/out of Prelims: 

1. Please log-in to Swimtopia and select the 2018 RMSL Championship Meet sign-up buttons on the homepage. 

2. Select up to 3 events for each swimmer. They must have swum in at least 2 meets this season to be eligible. 

3. If you have decided not to participate in Prelims, please log-in and sign your swimmers out. 

4. Once you have signed your swimmers in and selected events select the volunteer position for one of the meets you’ll be attending. If you don’t sign-up, a shift for a meet will be assigned to you.
