Coaches’ Update – Daniel Bensen

• I want to hear from you, but I really want to hear from the kids!
• Relay teams will be chosen by times. If swimmers have equal times, relay teams will be chosen by the attendance from the previous week.
• Email anything swimming related to me (meet entries, practice questions, etc.)
• Have FUN!

Notes for the season

• All dates on homepage under the “calendar tab” - please check weekly! And read Neptune News every Sunday.
• Meet sign-up/jobs: Sunday at noon to Tuesday 10 p.m. deadline
• Volunteering: Find your own trades for fundraising/social jobs
• Slideshow: submit 2 photos of your kids by June 27 - details/link will be on homepage
• Tip jar for coaches will be online
• Possibility of swim clinics on Monday nights. Check the website for details.
• Please register your swimmers via Swimmingly Clubhouse, download Swimmingly App for all timers and stroke judges and Swimmingly Fan to track meet results

Fundraisers - help pay coaches salaries, RMSL fees, items for the team (e.g., new lane lines)

• Chick-fil-a: June 1, 5-7pm
• Chipotle: June7, 5-9pm
• Noodles: June 14, 4-8pm
• Swim-a-lap June 16
• Pirates Cove June 29 6:30-8:30pm
• Other possible restaurant nights TBD
• Luminaries- pick up 12/19, to be displayed 12/24
• CK Neptunes yard signs
• Meatball Dinner is back on, TBD

Rules for Practice

• All children 10 and under must have adult supervision to be at pool outside of their practice time
• Please keep off of deck and put your chairs away when you are done using them
• Clean up trash and make sure kids aren’t letting shower water run in the showers
• Please wait until practice ends to talk with coaches or schedule a time
• Parent Reps will be at the pool when possible. Please feel free to call or email us if we are not there and you need to get in touch - see website for info.
• Twilight Practices for older kids 11-12 and 13+ on Wednesday nights 7-9 p.m.

Requests for Parents

• Please review the Parent Code of Conduct on the website.
• Check family folders weekly.
• Team is entirely volunteer run and is not possible without parent involvement and volunteer duties. You are expected to work your social/fundraising jobs and must find your own replacement if you can’t fulfill your shift. Let parent reps know if you need to change.
• You can see volunteer jobs if you log onto the Swimtopia website.

Important Dates

• June 2nd: Kidnap Breakfast-help keep it a surprise! Pickups start at 7:30 a.m., wear PJS, pack swim bag for kids. Pick up and end at pool by 9 a.m. (You may choose to opt in or out of this event)
• June 8th: Team Pictures forms online, wear suits, schedule to follow
• June 16th: Swim-A-Lap Fundraiser
• June 22nd: Moonlight Practice for all swimmers
• June 28th: Messy Games-7pm Cherry Field for all 11+
• June 29th: Pirates Cove Fundraiser
• June 27th - Slideshow deadline for end of season: parents send in 2 pics to be included
• July 10th: Team Banquet- EVERYONE - 6pm Cherry Field
• July 12th-17th-Virtual Prelims times TBD

*There will be no 4th of July activities at this point
