PLEASE READ...important CKST registration changes!

Hello Neptune Families! We are so excited for the 2025 season!!

There are some big changes coming our way this registration period, and we want to communicate to all families as soon as possible, so you can begin your planning.

This year, we are moving to a total points-based system for all volunteer requirements (social, fundraising and meets). The reason for this change is to help families plan for their summer (as much as possible) in advance.

Advantages to the point system:

  • Ability to plan ahead for families
  • More flexibility for families on how to meet the requirements
  • Sign up for all jobs right when you register your swimmers
  • Ability for volunteer coordinators to connect with volunteers in advance to start planning events

Within the point system, there is more flexibility for each family to meet their requirements for the season, as you can vary between meet jobs and social jobs in the best way to meet the needs of your family. There is one exception to this, and that is at each HOME meet that your swimmer participates, you are still REQUIRED to fulfill at least one volunteer shift.

Families may fulfill 2 shifts in one meet; however, they may not be concurrent shifts. You can fulfill up to 2 shifts at a meet if they are consecutive.

Jobs have varying point levels. Jobs that have higher points typically require more time, planning, and we highly encourage you to take on a higher point role only if you are willing to put in the commitment to fulfill that role. Some jobs also have higher points, as they require additional training like being a stroke judge. A few jobs have lower points (like meet floaters) as they frequently are not called upon during their shift, or it takes a very small amount of time.

Each family will need to accumulate 6 total points. If your swimmer is participating in prelims or finals, you will need 1 additional point for a total of 7 points.

Similar to seasons past, we will require 2 checks from each family for $250 each. If you do not fulfill your volunteer requirements, your checks will be cashed. If you reach 4 or less points, one $250 check will be cashed. If you have less than 6 (or 7) points at the end of the season, the second $250 check will be cashed. It is important to remember that CKST is a volunteer run organization for our kids, and WE (parents/guardians) are the people who make it happen.

All jobs for meets, fundraising and social opportunities will be posted and open to sign up for when registration opens! JOB SIGN-UP IS REQUIRED TO PROCEED WITH TEAM REGISTRATION. This is a major change, so please plan ahead and be prepared to sign up when registration opens.

For planning purposes, you can view the team schedule on the website. This lists dates of all swim meets, fundraising and social events.

We will send additional information regarding these changes, like what to do if you need to switch a shift or your schedule changes at a later date.

We know that this is a big change, but we are trying to make it as easy as possible for families to plan their summer activities around the Neptune's swim season! This is also in alignment with many of the other teams in our swim league.

Registration will be open April 1st-17th. If you completed the Intent to Register form, you will receive a registration link.

We are looking forward to an amazing season, and can’t wait to see you all at the pool soon!
