END OF SEASON NOTES

What a great season! Thanks to all of our Coaches, swimmers and parents for making it happen!! It is NOT over yet, we would encourage everyone to participate in Prelims. Here is important information and timelines to note, please read.

-Last practices are this Friday, June 27 unless swimmers are competing in Prelims & hopefully Finals! Please see the Prelims Practice Schedule linked here or posted on the website.

-PRELIMS MEET ENTRY is now open and will close June 30th @ noon. FIRM DEADLINE!

Some things to consider when making the decision to participate in Prelims:

• You are making the commitment to be available to attend Finals on Saturday, July 12th, should your swimmer qualify for individual and/or relay events. If you know that you and your swimmer cannot attend Finals, please do not sign up to swim in Prelims. Many of our relay teams do go to Finals each year!
• For Finals, the top 18 swimmers are taken from Prelims to participate in the Finals meet (16 swimmers and 2 alternates) for each event.
• Cherry Knolls does not require swimmers to have a certain qualifying time to participate in prelims. We encourage your swimmer to participate if they want to, and it is a great experience. If you are looking at qualifying times, we suggest you look at the Finals times from last year that are posted on the RMSL website.
• Your swimmer must have participated in 2 official meets this season to qualify for Prelims per RMSL rules. The Intrasquad meet with the Knolls does not count as an official meet.
• There are practices the week before and the week of Prelims ONLY for those participating in Prelims/Finals.
• Championship t-shirt preorders due TONIGHT! (order here) They will have shirts for sale at the Prelims & Finals meets too.

Volunteering

• RMSL assigns each team multiple volunteer shifts for each event, so we need your help!
• You must fulfill at least one volunteer shift for Prelims events. If you have multiple swimmers in multiple meets, you are obligated to fulfill one shift for the week. We will do our best to limit to one shift during the week, but it’s not always possible depending on how many swimmers participate in each age group.
• If your swimmer qualifies for Finals, you might need to fulfill another volunteer shift at the Finals meet on Saturday.

Steps to DECLARE swimmers (Attending/Not Attending) for Prelims

• Please log-in to the CK Swim team website, go to meet/event schedule and select the Prelims Meet that corresponds to the age group of your swimmer(s) found after selecting the “Meet Schedule” button (It is the same place you sign up for regular meets.)
• Select up to 3 individual events for your swimmer.

*Please be careful to go under the correct age group meet in order to sign your swimmer up. Also note that the events are the same as in the regular season dual meets, but they are numbered differently in the prelims. The events will be back to the normal numbering order at finals. The Prelims entries will be open until June 30th at noon, FIRM DEADLINE.

• If you have decided not to participate in Prelims, please log-in to Swimtopia and declare your swimmers NOT ATTENDING.

-Prelims Party (only swimmers competing) July 6 (5-7PM) at the pool! You do not want to miss this fun night and team spirit building event!!

-End of Season Banquet for ALL families Sunday, July 13 (5:30-8PM). Join the team in Cherry Field to celebrate all of our swimmers accomplishments this summer! Bring chairs, a blanket, and a picnic dinner. Following the awards, swimmers will have a special dessert and watch a fun slide show. Many people dress up in their summer’s best!

-DON’T FORGET our Pirate’s Cove Night tomorrow, June 26 from 6-8pm supporting the Cherry Knolls and The Knolls Swim Teams!

This is a FUN fundraiser for swim team family, friends, and neighbors. Anyone can join you at this event! Pirates Cove will be closed to the public. Buy wristbands tomorrow at practice, use this QR code or link. CKST Purchasing Portal

• Wristbands will be given out upon entry to Pirate’s Cove or at practice on June 26 (doors open at 6p).
• Payment/wristband required for each attendee (4yo+), even those not swimming.
• Bring your own food and beverages! Concessions will NOT be open.
